The Soul Slayer – Tidus’s Story Prequel

Where the story begins the Prequel to Queen Kitiara’s The Soul Slayer
“My name is Tidus Yumemiru, I am an angel born near the magical Sylvari Tree….. enlisted by the gods as an envoy
my job was to escort newborn souls to their bodies as they drew their first breath, and to escort them back when they drew there last
There they became the filament that sparkles in the sun by day, and glow that light the fireflies at night.
I was honored to have the power, to help bring life into the world. And to clean the wounds and tears of those ready to be taken to the next realm.
Then one day, as I turned to leave a newborn soul to enter the world, I was summoned by the gods to take her back ….”
I saw the young mother, pleading at Dwayna’s shrine, offering anything to save her unborn child, knowing that when a monk prophesizes a child’s fate — it shall become true.
My heart broke for her, as i had only just graced her with her wish, to have to now strip it from her she seemed as if she would perish if she couldn’t gaze into the eyes of the child she so dearly wanted.
It was all I could bear just to stand there knowing the fate of her child was in my hands. It was then that I chose bestowed the child’s spirit back to its mother,
I knew I had challenged fate that day, and I would soon have to answer the Gods for it. But as the mother stood up, her face suddenly calm with a sense of well being; I knew I did what was right.
The Gods were furious with me. I told them of the mothers’ desperate plea and ever sworn service to Dwayna if she could only spare her child, but this was not good enough for them. I professed my good intentions, and they cruelly cursed me for it by stripping me of my power to carry life to the next world. They bound my soul to a sword of great power, made in the bowels of grenths deep underworld to slay souls that escaped his realm. I was now invisible to all except the wielder of this sword whom I would have to serve and protect whether I wanted to or not. And to make matters worse i cannot die, nor can i age whilst bound to this cursed sword.
The gods wanted me to see how it feels to have no choice in a matter that should have been theirs in the beginning. I was now forced to bring death to those I encountered. I was now, the Soul Slayer
